David Green's MUSICAL THEATRE UNIVERSITY (MTU) is the most intensive and comprehensive, pre-professional training ground in the performing and creative arts for talented young people with aspirations for careers in theatre, grades 8 -13, selected by audition from throughout  the Coachella Valley and neighboring counties and communities, in residence at Rancho Mirage High School. The Coachella Valley campus is sponsored and presented by THE PALM SPRINGS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT.

​Founder And Director DAVID GREEN was recognized by The American Theatre Wing and Carnegie Mellon University as one of the TOP TWELVE ARTS EDUCATORS in the nation for the 2016-17 Season -- Mr Green was honored with a listing in the 2017 TONY AWARDS Playbill.

MUSICAL THEATRE UNIVERSITY provides intensive, high level training designed to meet the needs of both professional performers and “aspiring-professional” performers and to develop the “triple threat” skills of the actor/singer/dancer necessary to attain and sustain a career in Musical Theatre, Film and Television. The core faculty is made up of working professional “artist-teachers” supplemented by celebrated guest-artist Master Teachers from Broadway and Hollywood. 

 The MTU curriculum meets or exceeds the California State Standards for Arts Education and, in addition, provides a hands-on, “real world” approach to training which serves as a bridge from classroom to career. 

Concurrent with the MTU curriculum, students have the opportunity to participate in professionally produced theatrical productions, working alongside celebrated Broadway and Hollywood Actors and local professional performers in four fully-staged musical productions each year.
