SUMMER 2010 IS HOT
AS BROADWAY HITS LAGUNA!
Our five-week, intensive Summer Stock experience for talented Musical Theatre performers (ages 14-24), selected by audition from all parts of this nation, culminates in four fully-staged, professionally-produced musicals.
Participants are immersed in classes, workshops and rehearsals from nine to five, five days a week. They are cast in at least two of the four productions in either leading, supporting or ensemble roles. Participants also work “behind the scenes” as crew members on at least one other production and have the opportunity to learn about lighting, sound, costumes, props, scenic construction and/or stage management.
There are weekly Master classes with celebrated BROADWAY actors, composers, lyricists, writers, directors and choreographers. Past Master Teachers include Shoshana Bean, Jason Robert Brown, Rex Smith, film and television actor Tim Bagley and casting director Julia Flores.
Past productions include Forbidden Broadway, Curtains, A Chorus Line and The World Goes Round: The Music of Kander and Ebb.
Summer Stock 2010 runs from July 12 through August 14 in the beautiful resort town of Laguna Beach, California --- the rehearsal facility is literally a block from the beach!
Participants currently in the program were selected by audition or professional recommendation.
Some out of state/country participants auditioned via DVD.
Some of our out of state participants are residing with host families and learning firsthand the unique culture of Southern California!
There are a select sixty performers in the program -- they made the cut through a rigorous and highly competitive audition process.
The show schedule has been set: Secret Garden, The Light in the Piazza, Defying Gravity and Into the Woods! Performances run between August 5th and August 14th and will be staged at the Actors Theatre in Laguna Beach.
