TWO WEEKS * THIRTY PERFORMERS* TEN AMAZING MASTER TEACHERS * TWO GREAT PRODUCTIONS !!!
A two-week, comprehensive "Boot Camp" experience for talented Musical Theatre performers (ages 14-24), selected by audition from all parts of this nation, culminating in the staged reading of two fully-staged, professionally-produced musicals.
Participants are immersed in classes, workshops and rehearsals from nine to five, five days a week for two intensive weeks. EVERY PARTICIPANT is cast in both of the staged reading productions, with the unique opportunity to play a leading or featured role in one production and ensemble in the second. The readings are professionally staged and provide the students with the skills necessary to be successful in the genre of "staged readings" which is vital for building and sustaining a career in Musical Theatre. There is no other program like this in the nation!!!
There are DAILY Master classes with celebrated BROADWAY actors, composers, lyricists, writers, directors and choreographers. This year's MASTER FACULTY will include: Composer Ryan Scott Oliver (Freaky Friday); Tony Winning Composer Jeff Marx (Avenue Q); Krysta Rodriguez (The Addams Family); David Burnham (The Light In The Piazza), Academy Award Winning Composer Richard Sherman (Mary Poppins); Victoria Morris (Vice-President; KSA), Michael Kerker (Director; ASCAP Musical Theatre) AND MORE!!! *
The BROADWAY BOOT CAMP will run from August 1 through August 13 in the beautiful resort town of Laguna Beach, California --- the rehearsal facility is literally a block from the beach!
THE BOOT CAMP WILL BE LIMITED TO NO MORE THAN THIRTY SIX TALENTED PERFORMERS, SELECTED BY AUDITION -- SO THAT EVERY PERFORMER RECEIVES THE ULTIMATE EDUCATIONAL AND PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE!!!
This season's readings will be BARE: A POP OPERA and THE DROWSY CHAPERONE!! Performances will be held August 12 and 13 !!
*Master Teachers schedule subject to change due to unforeseeable professional commitments, however participants are guaranteed ten Master Classes with professional artists in the Musical Theatre World !!
